After creation, a subscription is in Draft status. To start billing, the subscription must be activated.
Start Activation
Open the subscription and click the Activate button in the top action bar.
The activation dialog opens with the following options:
Activate All Items
By default, the Activate all items option is enabled. In this case, all subscription items are activated simultaneously.
If you only want to activate specific items, disable the Activate all items option. An item selector appears where you can choose individual items.
Select Items
When Activate all items is disabled, a product list is displayed. Each item shows the following details:
- Product name and description
- Status badge (Draft, Active, etc.)
- Price model (e.g., Flat-rate, Tiered)
- Billing start — the date from which billing begins
If a subscription contains products across multiple phases (different start dates), items are grouped by phase.
Search and Selection
- Use the search bar to filter items by name or description (appears when there are 6 or more items)
- Click Select all to select all items at once
- Child products are automatically selected along with their parent
Adjust Billing Start
By default, billing starts on the contract start date associated with each item.
To override the billing start date manually, enable the Adjust billing start option. A date picker appears where you can select the desired start date.
When you adjust the billing start, the original date is shown with a strikethrough in the product list, and the new date is highlighted. This provides a clear visual indicator of the change being applied.
Confirm Activation
Click Activate subscription to proceed. The subscription transitions to Active status and billing begins on the specified date.
Activation cannot be undone. Make sure the correct items and billing start date are selected before confirming.
Activate Items Later
If an active subscription contains new items in Draft status (e.g., after adding new products), the activation dialog can be opened again to activate those items individually. In this case, the Activate all items option is not shown.
